“Little Love” – De Hofnar & Elior feat. Joe Killington
by Eubin Jin
Uplifting. If I had to describe “Little Love” by De Hofnar in one word, it would be uplifting. EDM has been consider by many people to be nothing more party or club music with little substance. This makes sense with EDM’s roots being tied to the club scene, but as with any genre of music, it evolves and changes over time. Presently, you can see fans of this music have legitimate, emotional reactions to certain subgenres, artists and songs; from smiles that stretch from ear-to-ear to tears streaming down their faces. “Little Love” is a wonderful example of the former. A bouncy bassline with catchy synths set the stage, as the almost jazz-like vocals of Joe Killington beautifully pairs with the mood of the song. The message is clear from the lyrics, if you “spread a little love… it will all come back to you.” The future house drop keeps the euphoric atmosphere set earlier with a strong, synth forward sound that is easy to move to and a muted bassline to keep the tone light and dance-y. “Little Love” is a complete package when it comes to future house music, it hits all the marks of a great song while being able to spread an awesome message of happiness and love. Give the song a listen if you are having a bad day, it will definitely lift your spirits and put a smile on your face.
