SAINT WKND and MAX have teamed up to release the huge new single ‘Survive’, available via Nothing Else Matters / Ultra Records.

by Michael Beas

With over 7 million streams ‘Survive’ follows the release of SAINT WKND’s debut EP ‘Golden Youth and support from BBC Radio 1. The synths and bass-heavy, trap vibes take ‘Survive’ to a higher place. This track for us screams dance floor, while the vocals give hints of youth and a willingness to conquer the world. SAINT WKND is only 22 and he is mountains above the rest as he dominates the airwaves with pure production capabilities that surpass even some of the veterans.

This year alone he has already played set the likes of Electric Forest, Bang On! Elements Campout, Splash House and Firefly. He is also set to perform at Electric Zoo (New York), Lollapalooza (Berlin) in September with a host of US and Canadian tour dates to follow in the Autumn.

MAX is a New York City born pop-soul singer, actor & dancer. His last solo single Lights Down Low’ got over 70M streams and gained him over 1.2M followers. He’s been on MTV and performed on NBC’s TODAY show.

The combination of these two artists on a track is a unique blend that will catch fire the moment it comes into existence.

SAINT WKND said “‘Survive’ started as an instrumental that I wrote between studio sessions in London. I was just playing around with an arpeggiator at first, liking how it sounded so weird. I sent a package of different beats over to MAX to see if he liked any, and included this one. It was a real surprise when he chose it, it’s so different. Working with him has been amazing – his vocal range is simply insane. As soon as he sent me his first vocals, the whole production for the song fell into place”

MAX said “Been a fan of SAINT WKND’s production style for a minute now and when he sent me the base track for survive I immediately connected with it. The progression of the topline and production together after the last few months has been so rad and unique and I’m so happy to share the final song finally!”
