They don’t get much more iconic in the world of dance music than DJ Craze. The only solo DJ ever to win the DMC World Championships three times over, he was hailed by none other than Time Magazine as “America’s Best DJ”. Now he returns, releasing new single ‘Stuck On You’ with Palmer Reed on his own imprint, Slow Roast Records.
Fusing the worlds of D’n’B and R’n’B to maximum effect, ‘Stuck On You’ is a production that manages to somehow capture both a sense of calm and space, and a feisty, uplifting energy that gives the track real depth, a dynamic that’s very much in sync with the sonic footprint of drum & bass. Craze unsurprisingly crafts an immense, undulating beat, one that propels the rhythmic underside of the single forward, providing Palmer Reed with a momentous platform to layer his own sensibilities over. Doing what he does best, his contribution to the piece gifts listeners a sublime experience, delivering his own sense of rhythm to the composition, gelling with Craze’s energy to build an overriding ebb and flow.
Craze and Reed were introduced to each other via the late Big Makk. Feeling an instant connection the pair were instinctively drawn to work with each other in the studio. When Palmer sent Craze a hook he’d been working on, the creative inspiration was immediate and ‘Stuck On You’ was born.
“’Stuck On You’ is one of my favorite tunes that I’ve ever made,” Craze said. “Palmer is an amazing artist and the combination of his songwriting and my drum and bass production is magic. Proper combo of RnB & Drum & Bass for clubs and radio.”
“I wanted to highlight the moment of infatuation between two people in the perfect environment where sparks fly,” Palmer added. “I’m forever grateful for the opportunity to work with a legendary artist like DJ CRAZE. This song felt effortless to create and effortless music is the type that lasts forever.”
