Seth Troxler & Bill Patrick to Unveil Exclusive Book In Between at ADE 2024

DJ and producer Seth Troxler is set to launch the highly anticipated book, In Between, during this year’s Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE). Shot over the course of ten months, between February and November 2023, the American musician and photographer, Bill Patrick joined his long-time friend, Seth Troxler on a world tour which encapsulated four continents, twenty countries and forty cities all in the space of these 10 months. The book offers a rare, behind-the-scenes glimpse into Troxler’s life on the road.

In Between will be officially unveiled at a launch event on Friday, 18th October at ADE 2024, with advance copies available for purchase for the very first time, ahead of the book’s release on the 12th November. The event will bring together press, friends, and fans to celebrate this exclusive collection. In addition to the book signing, the launch will feature a special talk from Seth Troxler and Bill Patrick, where they will share stories from their ten months on the road together and the creative journey behind compiling In Between. This one-of-a-kind work is a must-have for both lovers of music culture and photography, offering a window into the life of one of electronic music’s most dynamic and enduring talents.

Featuring elements of photojournalism, music photography and portraiture, Bill Patrick documented this fast-paced journey in 35mm using a combination of vintage cameras. As a result, the granular quality of the photographs gives them a timeless feel, which contrasts with the procedural pace of the series. Featuring over 250 photographs and select texts, In Between is Patrick’s first photo book. It is also the first book documenting aspects of Troxler’s life and work. The book, however, does not merely focus on behind-the-scenes shots. It instead challenges the tradition of live music photography by expanding into a multi-faceted photo essay.

Throughout the book, the rhythm of a buoyant nightlife is punctuated by moments of solitude and rest. Meanwhile, street photographs offer a glimpse into the cultural fabric of otherwise anonymous cities. In-betweenness is the protocol governing the work: we are neither here nor there, now nor then. The only guiding principle is the admiring gaze of a friend.

The book will be officially released online November 12th, with further launch events taking place in New York on October 23rd, as well as in London and Miami with dates TBC.
