Rising Slovenian tech-house star Ian Sound drops his new track ‘Psychedelics’ as part of the official Shanghaied ADE compilation today.
The track serves up an immense dose of Sound’s trademark groove with an old school breakbeat rhythm and rolling, relentless basslines that wallop and tease throughout. A hypnotic, offbeat rhythm frolics with trippy hi-hats and a playful vocal sample, each element combined to create the perfect sound for both the Shanghaied imprint and the atmosphere of ADE week.
Sound explains: “The idea of the track ‘Psychedelics’ actually came from a Ted Talk. There was a guy talking about psychedelic drugs and his experience with using them. I sampled the vocals and put them together in a meaningful order so the track told a story. There is always a story behind my productions, I think this makes it more special. As the story of this track is about psychedelics I wanted the bass-line to have vibes of a psychedelic trip, I combined two different bass-lines to make it unique with a heavy groove”.
Sound’s last release ‘Fake Records’ dropped on the iconic Nervous Records two weeks ago and received its premiere on the YouTube Tech-House authority Blanc. With more incredible material in the pipeline, plus exciting news on a major upcoming gig, ‘Psychedelics’ is another string to the bow of this young one-to-watch as he climbs through the tech-house ranks.
