LOS ANGELES, CA — In episode #009, the Wide Awake Stories crew counts down the days until Electric Daisy Carnival returns for another celebration Under the Electric Sky, with a dedicated EDC Las Vegas Special. Set to take over Las Vegas Motor Speedway from June 16-18, this month’s podcast gives listeners a sneak peek into the inner workings of the festival, touching on talent curation, stage design, and more. Don’t miss the latest episode of Wide Awake Stories, here.
The Queen of Techno, Nicole Moudaber, shares an exclusive preview of her EDC Las Vegas Moodzone takeover, slated to bring a dark energy to the neonGARDEN stage on Friday, June 16. Across the Speedway and away from the techno grooves of neonGARDEN, sits the legendary bassPOD stage helmed by Forrest Hunt and Tony Merino of Team Bassrush. The squad responsible for the audiovisual spectacle of the iconic bass music environment shares the future of the bassPOD design and takes a look back at the brand’s incredible growth in recent years.
The task of curating a lineup of hundreds of artists, including those at neonGARDEN and bassPOD, falls to the gang of Insomniac talent buyers, headed by former trance DJ, Dave Ralph. Ralph chats with the Wide Awake Crew to reveal how he and the talent team narrow down countless acts to create the world’s best dance music lineup, and shares his own memory of closing out the iconic Woodstock ’99 festival.
While thousands of fans walk the grounds of EDC, more than 150 couples will invite friends and family to see them tie the knot inside the festival grounds. Ryan and Lindsey of San Jose share the intimate story of how they met and what singular connection made them decide to get hitched at EDC.
Rounding up this special episode, Grant from the Monstercat crew blesses the airwaves with an upbeat 10-minute mini-mix, a preview of the label’s Kalliope Art Car takeover on June 17.
