Billy Jeffrey of The Chippendales chatted with Powerjournalist Markos Papadatos, who is “Mr. May” in the 2020 Chippendales calendar. He has been with the popular male revue for over 17 years. “That went very fast,” he admitted. “It has been pretty crazy.”

“I am more unique than the other Chippendales performers. I have businesses outside of the male revue. I own three GNC vitamin stores, and we were deemed essential. We have been supplying immune-boosting supplements, hand sanitizers, N95 masks, healthy snacks, protein bars, we have been pretty busy,” he said. “Thank you to the Chippendales for allowing me to continue my real life.”

“After things quieted down in Las Vegas, I went back home to Idaho to work and to make sure the businesses were going to be okay,” he said. “The goal is to stay in the game.”

For Jeffrey, it has been “fun” to do the Chippendales virtual party during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

He has been hosting Billy TV Live on the @Chippendales Instagram channel. “Chippendales reached out for me to do Billy TV, so on Saturdays at 2 p.m. PST, I am doing that again. That was something that I developed 15 years ago,” he said. “Billy TV allows me to contribute while I am here in Idaho. Each week, I wear one of the old tour T-shirts.”

Jeffrey acknowledged that being a social media influencer is quite difficult. “People have no idea how hard it is, especially in today’s market. It is more than a full-time job,” he explained.

He noted that one of his favorite and “hottest” numbers in the Chippendales show is the “boy band number.” “The boy band number brought me such joy,” he said. “Everybody is having so much fun with it.”

Back in the day, he shared that he was hired to change the image of the Chippendales. “At the time, when I was hired, they wanted us to develop their image and their European fanbase,” he said. “The show that we do is very different, so it needs to be in your personality to be a Chippendale. Luckily, for me, it worked out great, and I have been with the company for many years. It has been a really great experience.”

For young and aspiring dancers and performers, he encouraged them to be passionate about it. “First and foremost, I don’t take myself too seriously but I take the job seriously. You really need to have a passion and your show needs to be on another level,” he said.

“I am very passionate about the Chippendales. The guys and I are like a band of brothers,” he said.

Jeffrey offered the following optimistic message to fans during the COVID-19 pandemic: “We are all in this together. Hang in there. I have done a really good job keeping in touch with our fanbase. It’s natural to be upset and bummed out about things. When people say, we are all in this together, it’s really true. I have a state-of-the-art home gym and I’m posting content for people that don’t have a home gym to give people ideas for workouts and for staying healthy. I am on the frontlines in trying to help people stay healthy, mentally, physically, spiritually, and emotionally.”

He defined the word success as follows: “Over the years, I have changed the definition of that word so many times. At one point, it was buying the car that I wanted, then, it was about buying my dream house. Once I had those things in check, I enjoyed my hard work in those things with a great patio and a great view. Then, I wanted to reach success in other areas of my life, where I didn’t reach my full potentials, such as with family and friends.”
