Lighting up New York City with his indie-disco finesse, producer, singer/songwriter, and guitarist Sasha Rome just released his debut EP Criminal. Capitalizing on his now signature sound, the 5-track EP is an expensive-sounding project balancing disco, house, and indie-pop.
Boasting features from AMAVA, Artemis Orion, CARLIE, and Stripess, Criminal is a testament to Sasha Rome’s collaborative appeal. The EP moves like water through tangy synths, sweet guitar riffs, and stimulating vocals to create a full-bodied listening experience tailored for summertime. Emotionally present yet accessible to any occasion, Criminal marks an exciting milestone in Sasha Rome’s quickly blossoming career.
Speaking on the album Sasha says, “The Criminal EP started during the tough winter of 2020 during the pandemic. I hadn’t produced for a couple of months before that which was the longest stretch I’ve gone without producing since I started in 2017. The songs were a way to keep sane and were very introspective but had a cohesive feel to them that made me realize they could form my debut project. As 2021 rolled around and things started opening up the EP took on a new meaning and the songs became a celebration of the reopening of the world. A celebration of friends, parties, dancing, life, and everything we missed during the pandemic.”
