We’re Getting “Louder” with CVBZ
By Sophia Roca-Joseph
Full of light and insight CVBZ is a force to be reckoned with. Drawing millions of listeners from his independently released track, “Be Like You” in 2016 to being signed with Ultra Records in 2017, he never seizes to amaze any and every lucky listener. With just dropping a new single, “Louder” this man has got the groove and is bringing you the best tunes.
Do you have any Pre-Show Rituals?
Pacing in circles and snapping at my band mates is definitely something I do. I get super diva before shows. I know a lot of bands put their hands together and scream “go team go” before shows but I really like my peace and quiet. The stomach dropping before you go on stage never goes away, I think if it’s something you care about your never going to not be nervous.
If you could eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Fruit or French fries. French fries are my favorite food hands down. I just reclaimed my connection with fruit and I forgot how good it makes me feel.
How do you find peace and calm while on tour?
I have to go internal. I am prone to stress. You have to be rooted in the moment, find home inside yourself and the ways I do that are by guided meditation.
What’s one quote you live by?
“Pain is inevitable but suffering is optional.”
Hardest lesson to learn in this industry?
Not being attached to the outcome.
Go to tour snack?
Last summer it was cool ranch Doritos, I am a savory feen. Anything that tasted like a French fry or has that crunch that I can just keep snacking on. But Baked Lays are my thing right now.
If you could go to dinner with one person, dead or alive, who would it be?
So essentially it comes down to would I want to go to dinner with Post Malone or raised a love one from the dead. I would probably go to dinner with my cousin who passed away when we were eight but as the age I am now so we could get shit faced together.
Most awkward thing to happen to you on tour?
I was playing a show one time and I had these jeans with the hole in them and it was laundry day so I was wearing my old ratty throw away under wear and then I accidentally exposed myself through my pants. Yeah, I don’t know if it gets much more awkward than that.
Do you have any upcoming projects you want to talk about?
I just had a single that came out called, “Louder” it’s really paving the way for this next EP coming out. Im still trying to figure out how to title it, I wrote a lot of breakup songs towards the end of my relationship and I really want it to have the perfect title that represents the feeling of not knowing before you know.
