Returning to Buena Vista Lake in Southern California Memorial Day Weekend, May 25-30
Since 2006, Do LaB has acted as a curatorial beacon for the west coast festival movement, going on to inspire a global movement within the larger festival movement. LIB remains a prized destination for artists around the world to showcase their unique crafts within creative stage environments built for immersion and wonder. The result is a deep connection between crowd and performer that paves the way for peak musical experiences and genre-defying discovery.
LIB2022 is gearing up to be “one for the books” in terms of future/experimental bass. We see a number of returning artists, as well as some new ones. Here’s the ones you shouldn’t miss:
Clozee
Known worldwide for her tribal bass music, CloZee is bringing her dynamic fusion of influences front and center to the Thunder Stage. It’s exciting to see Clozee and experimental musician and vocalist Kilamanzego on the same lineup, mere months before Clozee’s show at Red Rock Amphitheater in October.
Ekali
Over the past seven-years, Ekali has blossomed from an underground trap act into a bonafide main stage star. His rise to the top has been marked with many milestones, including 2017’s “Babylon” with Denzel Curry and “Blame” with ZHU in 2018, culminating in his debut LP in 2020, A World Away. However, aside from his studio releases, Ekali has always had a constant force driving his growth and proving his prowess: his Awakening mix series. Make sure to catch Ekali’s set at the Thunder stage this year.
G-Jones & Eprom
For fans of the weirder, glitchier side of the EDM spectrum, G Jones has always been somewhat of a cult favorite. His signature black and white visuals, impeccable DJ abilities and raw sound design have made him an icon in the electronic music world, and one of the most anticipated acts on any given lineup. Often seen together, the Eprom & G-Jones duo is surely to deliver an unforgettable act.
Opiuo
The electronic musician Opiuo has orchestrated some of the biggest and buzziest productions at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in recent years, establishing himself as a leading electro-funk maestro of Colorado’s iconic venue. Starting his career off strong in Australia in 2019 and playing more than 50 shows across the world that year alone he continued to dominate the stage and let his creativity flow the entire time. From the United States and Canada to the United Kingdom and more, he played clubs, festivals and everything in between including an incredible set with the Syzygy Orchestra live at Red Rocks.
Dirtwire
The San Francisco-based Dirtwire likes to dabble in different sounds and will not be put in a box; a band dropping samples and programmed beats like an electronic music act, and over those beats playing psychedelic roots music to world-beat or traditional West African rhythms. It’s a cocktail of world groove and psychedelic folk delivered by an experimental trio in the habit of collecting instruments from around the world and incorporating those instruments into their live set. Dirtwire, who are multi-instrumentalists David Satori, Evan Fraser and Mark Reveley, will perform on The Thunder Stage at Lightning in a Bottle 2022.
Zebbler Encanti Experience
The duo Zebbler Encanti Experience, otherwise known as ZEE, sees visual artist Zebbler and producer Encanti fusing their respective arts to create an inspiring cerebral experience that fully embraces the senses of sight and sound. Fans of ZEE are hoping to hear tracks and remixes from their new album Syncorswim which can be found here.
