Fresh off their North American tour dates, The Funk Hunters launch into Summer 2022 showcasing their penchant for musical camaraderie with their aptly titled album, Music w/ Friends. The project features collaborations with Big Gigantic, Dr. Fresch, Opiuo, Haywyre, Champagne Drip, and markedly a collab with KillWill for a fresh take on The Beatles’ iconic “Eleanor Rigby.”
The Funk Hunters and KillWill’s “Eleanor Rigby” is a dance-powered production reflecting the timeless original by The Beatles. A cinematic slow burn with sweeping crescendos and lingering vocal prose, this “Eleanor Rigby” rendition is nothing short of mesmerizing. The lead track to the album, The Funk Hunters’ Music w/ Friends goes on to explore a myriad of styles and soundscapes through heartfelt collaborations designed for driving dancefloors, festival mainstages, and living room lounging to boot.
Speaking on the track The Funk Hunters say, “We worked on this really special cover of The Beatles’ iconic “Eleanor Rigby” with Will during Covid and have been waiting for summer festivals to return so we could play it live for everyone. So it feels really fitting to finally debut it on our new album, Music w/ Friends.
