“If I accept the sunshine and warmth, then I must also accept the thunder and lightning.”

    – Khalil Gibran, Author.

Less than a month remaining until Lightning in a Bottle 2022! Which is a pleasant thought for die-hard fans who have patiently waited for over 2 years for this.

As you and your friends eagerly pull into your camping spot on the first day of LIB, you begin to see, hear, and feel the excitement around you. The festival energy is electrifying and each breath you take feels alive. The people around you are setting up their campsites, putting on colorful outfits, and welcoming each other with open arms. It isn’t until this moment that you realize…you’re finally home.

Was two years worth the wait? You best believe it.

For those who don’t know, Lightning in a Bottle is an immersive celebration of life hosted over the course of five magical days. It is a community formed around self expression, loving respect, and of course, music. The beloved experience returns to Buena Vista Lake, CA from May 25th – May 30th with an exhilarating lineup certain to move bodies in dance and drop jaws to the Earth.

The iconic Woogie, Thunder, and Lightning stages will be coming in hot with artists from a multitude of different genres, ranging from world famous artists to up-and-coming breakout musicians. Some genres include edm, experimental, folk, and techo. What makes LIB unique is their ability to host your favorite performers, all the while creating the space to discover new music with new friends. It’s an experience you don’t want to miss.

We will get to see SG Lewis perform live at the Lightning Stage, after a surprise appearance on The Do Lab Stage during Weekend 1 of Coachella. French producer Chloé Herry, better known by her stage name Clozee, is also scheduled to perform on Saturday at the infamous Thunder Stage.

Some other key performers this year include Glass Animals, Griz, Of The Trees, a terrific B2B with Eprom & Gjones, Black Coffee, Four Tet, and so much more. Be sure not to miss Jon Hopkins’s performance which is sure to invoke a psychedelic vibe.

In addition to music, there will be immersive learning and cultural offerings throughout the event to help you spark your inner light. Workshops and experiences include yoga and movement, conscious speakers, playful art displays, and spiritual ceremonies.

This years’ planned amenities are destined to bring your festival experience to an A+ level. Free water aside, you will be able to purchase ice and beverages (both alcoholic (with show of ID) and non-alcoholic). There are several ATMs located throughout the festival grounds. For those who are sick and tired of walking everywhere there will be pedicabs available to all attendees. Showers and lockers are also available to all attendees. For a full list of the amenities check out the bottom of the article!

Feeling overwhelmed? Don’t be. It’s designed for endless fun. And you have five full days to experience the curiosities and surprises at LIB. The core days for music are Friday through Sunday, leaving Wednesday and Thursday free for opening parties and site exploration. These opening parties include but are not limited to Desert Hearts Lake Party, four hours of Joe Kay at the Stacks, and for making LIB history with a day-early powerup of the Woogie stage!
