Everyone’s favourite affable Dutch A-lister Laidback Luke is back with rising name Gian Varela, as the pair drops new single ‘Ponme Loco’ (Get Me Crazy) on Luke’s MixMash Records.
Blending tech-house with the LATAM vocal sound-of-now thanks to Melfi’s top line, ‘Ponme Loco’ should easily find its way onto the USB sticks of countless headliners across the summer festival season. With its swaggering bass and Latin-inspired percussion, the pair manage to keep it just the right side of melodic without being ‘too poppy’, making it the perfect beast for dance floors and playlists alike.
“Ponme Loco started off with the vocals as the majority of my records do,” said Varela. “So I came up with something simple, but catchy. “Ponme Loco” means “Get Me Crazy,” – once I had a vocal idea, Melfi, with a distinguished low raspy vocal, was able to accomplish what I envisioned. From there we sent a demo to Luke & he took the record to the finish line. Definitely bringing that legendary laidback luke sound to the instrumental ending up with a Spanish/Latin House record that is sure to “get you crazy” in clubs and festivals!”

Support from the single has already come from the likes of DJ Mag, 1001 Tracklists and TikTok influencers and with Luke set to play huge high-profile gigs at Tomorrowland, Parookaville, Electrisize Festival and more over the course of the summer, the track will only see more traction over the coming months.
