BLEU CLAIR BRINGS THE FUNK FROM THE HEART OF THE DESERT

Garrix collaborator Bleu Clair brings the funk – alongside a hefty dose of tech – from the heart of the desert with his latest offering ‘Sand Dunes’.

Blending chunky beats and thumping percussion with Arabian backing vocals and a relentless top line, ‘Sand Dunes’ manages to capture the modern house dance floor and the mystical essence of the Middle East, with a sideline in classic 90’s house elements added for good measure.

“Sand Dunes is a track that is heavily inspired by middle eastern sounds,” he said. “I put vocal chants that I found from splice as the main idea of the track, and I arranged some ethnic strings to compliment the vocals. I played this tune on my summer tour & the response of the crowd was amazing.”

Indonesian artist Bleu Clair has been one to watch for the past couple of years. His 2020 ‘Make You Mine’ co-production with Garrix under the Dutchman’s Ytram alias was a STMPD highlight, as were collabs with AC Slater and Matroda. Remixes for Tchami and Habstrakt only elevated his profile further, as did securing the #22 spot on 1001Tracklist’s inaugural 1001 Top Producer list.

With support from Skrillex, DJ Snake, Diplo, Tiësto, Guetta and more, and a debut run of dates last year that included EDC Las Vegas, Seismic Dance Event in Austin, and San Diego’s revered CRSSD Fest, it’s pretty clear this is one artist who looks set to leave the ‘One To Watch’ accolade in the desert dust as he moves to much bigger heights.
