Dripping in the kind of laidback, summery disco-pop vibes that are perfect for those mid-summer sessions comes the latest single from rising Canadian star Sparkee, ‘Rock With Me’, the second track to coming from his upcoming EP ‘Snack Pack’ this September.
With Georgia from LIINKS on the topline, ‘Rock With Me’ is a deliciously effervescent number, light and delicate but carrying a tripping percussive riff and enough of a weighty bass that it should easily make its way into record boxes and playlists everywhere, rocking dance floors and house tents across the States and beyond.
Speaking about the collab with Sparkee, Georgia said: “As soon as Sparkee hit me up to write to this track I instantly connected with its juicy, nostalgic funk vibes and endeavoured to match that energy with the vocal and lyric. Think platform wearing, penthouse party crashing, late summer night dance parties…that is where my head was at while I wrote this topline in sweats from my bedroom, mid pandemic .”
Sparkee, also known as Halifax-based producer Jesse Allen, has been making a name for himself since 2018. A weekly run of remixes that dropped across the entirety of 2021 – aka Lockdown – saw his streaming stats rocket to the tune of 10 million. Winning acclaim from none other than Deadmau5, who is on record as saying Sparkee’s bassline treatment of his single ‘Strobe’ was “technically impossible”, and coming through for none other than Tiësto on a competition-winning remix of ‘The Business’ that saw release on Musical Freedom/Atlantic Records, Sparkee now looks set to burst forth from confinement into the new era.
